A message from our Executive Director-Treasurer

“Our purpose at the MBCB is to equip churches to make disciples from Mississippi to Manchuria.”

If the southeastern United States is the Bible belt, then Mississippi is the buckle both geographically and spiritually. Mississippi is recognized as one of the most religious states in the country, which is a great metric to lead! At the same time, many of those who attend services give little evidence of genuine conversion. Even more, countless individuals across Mississippi have no connection to a church and no relationship with Christ.
The Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) is a network of some 2100 churches who cooperate both spiritually and materially to help those without God experience a connection with Him. Our purpose at the MBCB is to equip churches to make disciples from Mississippi to Manchuria.
Consequently, we provide a plethora of equipping opportunities to retool leaders for the work of making disciples. Our goal is to stoke the fire of faith lit by God in the hearts of faithful leaders, so they can do the same in their respective church settings.
In the end, we want every person in Mississippi to hear the best news of all time, that Christ was resurrected from the dead and we can know God by grace through faith in Christ. Our mission field starts in the communities, towns, and cities across the state, but it extends to all the world.
We here in Mississippi have been blessed by God with a rich spiritual heritage, and we want to share those blessings with everybody!
If you’re part of this network of Mississippi Baptist churches, know of my prayers. If you’re not, take this as an invitation to get on board with this great mission cause of making disciples!
