Central Hills Baptist Retreat

Our Purpose

The primary purpose of Central Hills is to provide a Christian camping experience for boys and girls. The facility is used almost exclusively for summer camp programs from late May to early August. Limited opportunities for other camps, retreats, and conferences during the summer may be available by advance registration only.

Throughout the rest of the year (mid-August through mid-May), Central Hills is available for camps, retreats, and conferences. Any age group can be accommodated. The off-season time is especially favored by churches, schools, student organizations, collegiate ministries, and ministerial organizations.  Both overnight and single day events are available.

2020 Summer Camps

Central Hills - ccca

Central Hills Baptist Retreat offers a variety of summer camp experiences at a reasonable cost. They are as follows: three-day coed camps for grades one through six ($130.00), a four-day coed camp for grades one through six ($160.00), five-day boys camps for ages 9-17 ($185.00), a five-day camp for adults with developmental disabilities ($185.00), a two-day camp for boys and their fathers, uncles, grandparent, etc. ($85.00 for the pair), and sports camps for high school teams with prices negotiable depending on length of stay.

Our maximum capacity for campers is 200 per session. Coed camps require churches to send one male chaperone and one female chaperone as needed. If a church is unable to send chaperones, or if your child is not coming with a church, we will supply chaperones form our group of college staffers if possible. Such an arrangement needs to be confirmed with camp management before the campers arrive. Our five-day boys camps do not require chaperones.

Here at Central Hills we offer a wide range of camp activities. They include swimming, canoeing, rifles (.22 caliber), archery, crafts, horse-back riding, field sports, gym sports, miniature golf, high and low ropes course, hiking, four-square, and tether ball.

Each morning at camp begins with a flag-raising ceremony and morning devotion. After breakfast we have a Bible study. Prior to lunch, we have missionaries share about their endeavors while challenging the campers to be more personally involved in missions. Each evening we have a worship service led by our camp pastor. Each counselor leads their group of campers in a bed-time devotional and each activity instructor shares a spiritual application at the end of each activity.
