Calhoun City’s own Karenza Spratlin was known to sing hymns as she exercised on a treadmill long before an alternative rock group popularized the idea with their music video that went viral in 2005.
Karenza and her husband Rabon lived a life actively involved in missions and outreach together through their local church, First Baptist Church of Calhoun City. As a couple, the Spratlins wanted their estate to continue furthering Kingdom work after the Lord called them to “higher service” with Him. After Rabon’s passing, Karenza contacted the Mississippi Baptist Foundation to ensure that her Last Will and Testament reflected this shared desire.
Through her Will, Karenza established the “Rabon and Karenza Spratlin Memorial Fund” with the Mississippi Baptist Foundation. By providing perpetual funding for missions and ministries supported through the Cooperative Program, the Spratlins’ legacy gift will continue their service on earth, sharing Christ in Mississippi and the uttermost parts of the world.
