Associational Prayer Coordinators Role Expectations

  • Spiritual Transformation

    Personal Role

    • Commit to a personal discipline of prayer and spiritual contrition.
    • Pray regularly for spiritual transformation among your churches and in your community.
    • Study recommended prayer enrichment resources, and maintain awareness of upcoming training opportunities and promotional events provided through your association and state convention.
  • Prayer Organization

    Associational Role

    • Consult with your Associational Missions Director to design the associational strategy of prayer promotion.
    • Encourage congregations to enlist a Church Prayer Coordinator.
    • Provide training opportunities and quarterly updates for Church Prayer Coordinators.
    • Design community PrayerMaps and encourage regular PrayerWalking/Driving events.
    • Assist in implementing the 2011 Courthouse Prayer Rally.

    • Attend State Training:
      • Growing Churches Conference

    • Encourage Church Prayer Coordinators to attend State Training.
    • Communicate the strategy design for 2011: “Covering Mississippi in Prayer.”
    • Consult with Associational Missions Director to request grant funding for appropriate prayer events.

    • Plan and budget for church-wide prayer events.
    • Encourage Sunday School classes to enlist a Prayer Coordinator.
    • Provide training opportunities and quarterly updates for Prayer Coordinators.
    • Design community PrayerMaps and encourage regular PrayerWalking/Driving events.
    • Promote the 2011 Courthouse Prayer Rally in your community.
