More than 340 people attended the Send North America Church Growth and Revitalization Conference Feb. 7 at Broadmoor Church, Madison. The event was designed to equip leaders with tools to infuse new life into churches in order to penetrate spiritual lostness in North America. Johnny Hunt, pastor of First Church, Woodstock, Ga., and former two-term president of the Southern Baptist Convention, was the facilitator. Steve Stone, associate executive director for church growth at the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board (MBCB) in Jackson, said, “We’ve come to realize that our Mississippi Baptist churches are in need of revitalization. We have developed action steps to identify revitalization needs in the state and are putting resources in place to meet those needs.” The conference was sponsored by MBCB and the North American Mission Board in Alpharetta, Ga., and funded by a registration fee and gifts to the Cooperative Program.
