Stewardship
About Us
It is a new day for the Stewardship Department. The SBC Executive Committee has established an agreement with Crown Financial Ministries
to assist our Southern Baptist churches with the creation of a new product called It’s a New
Day. This material provides churches with a four-week study of lessons and sermons to assist all of us in learning to
handle debt the biblical way. Information is provided through a national website. The program has been a success.
It is a new day in relationship to materials. This department produces high-quality materials that encourage believers to study and
learn to control spending, as well as develop a biblical approach to handling money. We provide the following new, FREE resources:
- Budget Toolbox for Churches: Six different budget approaches to build your
own unique budget.
- Catch the Vision: Guidelines for developing a strong stewardship ministry.
- Consider Your Ways: A three-Sunday resource that encourages church members to
consider their wealth, worship, and witness as they invest in the Lord’s work.
- Pastor, Stand Up for Stewardship: A practical guide for pastors, church
staff, and stewardship team members as they plan and implement stewardship events, emphases, and activities.
Several of our previous materials continue to be widely used. They are:
- Financial Examination Guide: Understanding why a financial examination or
audit/review should be conducted and the uses to which they can be applied.
- Life Realities: A four-Sunday emphasis on four life realities that offers
opportunities for people to make a change.
- Stewardship God’s Way: A CD format that explains biblical principles of
stewardship and allows a pastor to develop his own approach to promoting giving in his church.
We continue to promote Challenge to Build as an effective way to have a
capital fund raising program in the local church.
As a companion program for capital fund raising programs, we also suggest that a church conduct a
Successful Christian Financial Management Seminar. This is a one-day Sunday
emphasis assisting believers in addressing personal money matters. Our second companion program for capital fund raising is the
Weekend Stewardship Revival. This one-day effort will help the church
analyze the budget process and ways to grow committed stewards.
