Missions Education
Men’s Ministry
Men’s Ministry helps churches minister to the total man by nurturing him intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually to become
men with a Christ-centered purpose.
Now more than any time in history the local church needs an effective Men’s Ministry. As we see the deterioration of the foundation of
the family, we see the critical need for men to take a positive role in the spiritual leadership of the family. Effective life-changing
men’s groups can make that happen.
The Royal Ambassador organization takes its name from the motto, “We are Ambassadors for Christ,” based on 2 Corinthians 5:20.
Royal Ambassadors is a Southern Baptist mission education organization for boys in grades 1-6. It seeks to build biblical character in
boys through mission involvement and virtue commitments. Since its beginning in 1908, Royal Ambassador church-based ministries have helped
boys to grow spiritually, physically, mentally, and in relationships with others. The basic purpose of Royal Ambassadors is found in the
Royal Ambassador Pledge.
To build the Christian character needed to keep the promises of the RA Pledge, RAs learn biblical virtues such as Loyalty, Friendship,
Courage, Responsibility, Honesty, Faith, Compassion, Perseverance, Teamwork, and Self-discipline. They also learn about God’s missions,
develop and use mission skills, and learn about and support the mission work of their church and denomination. We prepare boys to Answer
God’s Call, Tell His Story, and Change their World.
This ministry is part of a church-wide Acts 1:8 challenge to reach our communities, state, nation, and world for Christ. To do so will
require men of character, men of commitment – Royal Ambassadors.
Lads is the RA organization for boys in grades 1-3.
Crusaders is the RA organization for boys in grades 4-6.
How to begin RAs
Challengers is the church-based Southern Baptist youth mission education organization for young men in grades 7-12.
As a mission organization, its purpose is to equip and mobilize young men and their leaders to be on mission with God and each other.
Challengers is a mission accountability group for Christian young men. Not only are they becoming leaders in the area of working with God
and other Christians in accomplishing His purpose in the world, but they are working together creatively to build relationships with other
guys (and men) who are on mission with God.
The Challengers program provides an arena for meaningful relationships and encourages Christian fellowship. It gives young men a chance
to take part in ministry and missions. Through its meetings and activities it gives them a sense of belonging.
