BSU Summer Missions Application
To Begin:
Contact your local BSU for application deadlines. Campuses require all application materials to be submitted in the fall, usually around
the end of November.
Once applications are received at the local BSU level, each applicant will be invited to a local committee interview. Local BSU
leadership will determine which North American applicants to recommend to State Interviews at Camp Garawya in Clinton and which
International applicants to recommend for financial assistance. Applicants will be notified of their specific interview time.
If you have any questions about completing and submitting necessary application materials, contact your local
BSU Director.
This application process will have four different steps. You must complete all 4 steps.

To open and complete these forms, you will need to have a copy of Adobe Reader on your computer. If the forms do not open, you will need
to download Adobe Reader. Follow instructions to install Adobe Reader.
Please read all instructions before starting application process.
There are five additional forms we are asking you to fill out and submit online. These MUST be submitted before your
application is considered complete.

We require references from the following (4) people:
- Pastor or church staff member
- Professor or a work supervisor
- Baptist Student Union director
- Friend
We would prefer these references be sent and received electronically.
However, if this is not possible, you may print the reference form out and hand it to the person filling out the reference, along with
a stamped envelope. They may then complete it and mail it to:

Electronic Instructions:
Open the form, enter your name and contact information, “save” to your hard drive, then attach the electronic copy to an email that
you send to each person filling out a reference. They may then open the document, complete it, save it, and send the completed reference form as an
attachment to cmmsns@mbcb.org.

Below is a list of steps to help you complete your online application:
- Further down this page, you will be directed to click on the link which will take you to the online application.
- Once the application page comes up, you will be asked to CREATE NEW APPLICATION, and then wait for an e-mail to be sent to you with
your username and password. You must use the user name and password in this e-mail to access the online application.
- Once you are logged in, complete the “GENERAL” page first. On this page, after listing dates of service, you will
be asked to choose the organization applying through. You must choose: Mississippi Baptist Student Union
- You have the option of completing the online application by sections. Each section can be completed and saved, so you can return
later to work on your application. If you do not save after each page section, your work for that section will be lost.
- IMPORTANT: Bypass “Reference” section at this point. This will be covered in step #3 in overall instructions.
- To get back into your application each time, you will need your user name and password that you selected when you first registered
to begin the online application. So write them down! If you lose them, you will have to start over completely.
- Once you complete your online application and BEFORE you click the “SUBMIT” button, print three
(3) copies. Submit these with other application materials to your BSU Director.
- When you have completed all pages and printed all copies, click the “SUBMIT” button to send your application to the
Mississippi BSU.
- IMPORTANT: Once you hit “SUBMIT”, you are no longer able to print, change, or access your
application, so be sure to print before you submit!
- REMINDER: You have NOT completed the entire process until you have completed the other three steps
listed above.

You are now almost finished! We need just three more items:
- One clear photo of yourself (headshot please)
- For students applying for a Canadian or International position – copy of passport (if not available, copy of passport application)
- Lifestyle questions

envelope, and turn in to your BSU Director
All three items will need to be turned in to your BSU Director.
