[two_third last=”no”]Providing Specialized Ministry to Mississippi Collegians[/two_third]
Since 1923, Mississippi Baptists have provided a unified witness to the colleges and universities of our state through Baptist Student Union. BSU strives to provide a balanced program of Christian growth and ministry opportunities for all collegians.
There is a Baptist Student Union presence on more than 30 community college and university campuses across Mississippi. Each is student-led and the programs are coordinated by seminary-trained Directors.
The Collegiate Ministry Department is interested in supporting church ministries to college students. The department offers help for your church in a variety of areas such as:
- Developing a new ministry to college students
- Determining appropriate strategies to reach and involve collegians
- Helping college workers understand the special needs of collegians
- Developing ideas for ministry to collegians while away from the home church
E-mail or call us for assistance with any of the above or if you have a question.

The Collegiate Ministry Department sponsors major state meetings annually. These meetings are College Student Conference in the fall and BSU Leadership Conference in the spring. For descriptions and registration information on these events, see our State Meeting page.
Opportunities such as Summer Missions provide an exciting opportunity for students to exercise their spiritual gifts. Students involved in BSU programs raise funds each year to send students out to serve across North America and around the world. Churches are also encouraged to become involved and discover opportunities for their college students to serve.
