Pastor (T.E.A.M.S. Leader) Responsibilities

• Lead the church to have an effective Bible study ministry.
• Interpret the biblical basis for evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and worship to the congregation.
• Lead the church to reach believers and non-believers for Bible study.
• Lead the church to be evangelistic by training Sunday School workers to witness to lost persons in daily contacts and structured outreach and by being alert to evangelistic opportunities in the Bible study sessions.
• Lead the church to organize its Sunday School ministry effectively.
• Assist in making adequate training available for all workers; lead in training activities as appropriate.

• Assist the Sunday School director in annual planning.
• Share information about the need for potential workers; lead the church to adopt leadership standards for workers.
• Participate and promote Bible teaching opportunities such as Vacation Bible School and January Bible Study.

• Maintain a daily personal quiet time, including prayer.

Minister of Education

Principal Function

The Minister of Education is responsible for the development and promotion of the educational program of the church.

Responsibilities

Work with the appropriate church leaders to set goals, determine priorities, establish programs and coordinate a calendar which will lead the church to accomplish its mission.

• Give leadership to the educational ministry of the church including Bible study, discipleship training, and leadership development.
• Supervise the educational staff members, such as minister of student, minister to children, etc., and/or volunteer staff such as Sunday School Director.
• Give direction and supervision to the church's outreach-evangelism program.
• Be responsible for all budget areas that fall under the education area.
• Work with the Sunday School Planning Team planning for the Sunday School ministry of the church, and for enlisting new teachers and re-enlisting existing ones.
• Work with the Nominating Committee in enlisting all other teachers and leaders in the educational area of the church.
• Be responsible for all programs sponsored by children’s, men’s, women, and adult ministries.
• Plan and promote fellowships, retreats, seminars and conferences which will enhance the spiritual growth and development of the church.
• Supervise the maintenance of accurate records for all educational organizations including the church membership roll.
• Coordinate the church calendar and insure the readiness of church facilities and equipment in accordance with the calendar.
• Keep abreast of the latest trends, methods and materials as related to religious education and administration.
• Serve as staff advisor for church committees as assigned by the pastor.
• Serve in the pastoral ministry area by leading in visitation of prospects, visiting hospitals and, when called upon, assist in counseling, performing weddings, conducting funerals.
• Comply with all established church policies and procedures as well as all applicable federal and state laws.
• Accept other assignments made by the Pastor.
• Maintain a daily personal quiet time, including prayer.

Sunday School Director

• Lead in determining the Sunday School organization needed to reach and teach effectively.
• Give direction to the enlistment and training of workers for the Sunday School.
• Help all workers see the importance of involving people in Bible study.
• Help develop and support the outreach-evangelism ministry of the church, and lead workers to become effective witnesses.
• Lead workers to set challenging but attainable goals and develop and maintain Sunday School planning meetings.
• Give direction in selecting and using appropriate Bible study materials for each group.
• Determine financial and physical resources needed for the Sunday School and recommend these resources to the church.
• Maintain and use records for the Sunday School and report periodically to the church on the progress of the Sunday School.
• Lead in evaluating the work of the Sunday School.
• Lead the church to enlist additional general leaders to share these responsibilities.
• Maintain a daily personal quiet time, including prayer.

Sunday School Outreach-Evangelism Director

• Assist the Sunday School director in magnifying the role of the Sunday School in reaching people for Christ and church membership.
• Assist the Sunday School director in organizing the Sunday School for effective outreach; enlist and train outreach workers for every class.
• Lead in planning and conducting outreach activities.
• Lead in building and maintaining a prospect file.
• Perform the duties of the Sunday School secretary in his or her absence.
• Maintain a daily personal quiet time, including prayer.
