Ministers in Forced Termination

Funds are available to assist ministers who are terminated without severance pay. The minister should call the director to discuss his needs. The director consults with the chairman of his Advisory Committee, and the decision is made to provide the funds. We do not determine how the funds are to be used. Funds are usually used for food, moving expenses, medical insurance, car payment, etc. Note - Family income from all sources is taken into consideration when determining eligibility. Emergencies are taken into consideration.

Eligibility

The minister must have been serving in a full time capacity in a church fully cooperating with the local Baptist Association and with the Mississippi Baptist Convention.

Ministers needing assistance are requested to give sufficient information concerning their financial situation or special need. Individuals in this forced transition period will be urged to seek temporary secular employment as well as another place of ministry.
