Sarah is responsible for the following events:
Young Musicians’ Camps
For children who have finished grades 4-6 by June 1 of the current year. The camp emphasis is on spiritual truths taught through music.
Fun times are also incorporated into the Christian environment.
Daily activities include 2 worship services, 2 choral rehearsals, music classes and spiritual emphasis classes. Also, a variety of
elective classes are offered such as: swimming, handbells, chimes, ping pong, outdoor games, crafts, art and many more.
Sponsors from the churches are required; 1 per 7 children of the same sex.

State Young Musicians’ Choral Festival
For children who are in a 4-6 grade choir at their church. Selected music must be memorized before the festival. A guest director leads
the mass choir of around 900. The schedule is as follows:

2008 Information
Young Musicians’ Choral Festival Adjudication
First Baptist Church, Clinton
A special session is planned for Friday evening preceding the festival at First Baptist Church, Clinton, 7:00-9:00 p.m. This is an
optional event to encourage choirs to grow musically by being evaluated. All choirs receive a score based on their performance. It is not a
competitive event. The evaluation is based on tone, technique, interpretation, diction, and appearance. More information is included in the

2008 Information
Area Preschool/Children’s Choir Leadership Training Clinics
Purpose: To train choir leaders and teachers how to teach musical concepts to preschoolers and children. “Teaching children about God
through music” is our philosophy. Our Mississippi state preschool/children choir specialists will be teaching in 2 locations in the state.
Conferees may choose between the preschool, younger children, or older children conferences. Cost is $7.00 per person payable at the conference.
