Susan is responsible for the following events:
Mississippi Baptist All-State Youth Choir and Orchestra
The Mississippi Baptist All-State Youth Choir and Orchestra was organized in 1993 by the Church Music Department of the Mississippi
Baptist Convention Board under the leadership of Susan Clark Luttrell, youth music consultant, and L. Graham Smith, department director.
The choir is made up of 9th – 12th graders who are chosen through a personal audition and interview process
conducted in seven locations across the state, September through November each year. Each choir and orchestra member must be an active
participant in the music ministry of their local Southern Baptist Mississippi church and recommended by their pastor, school teachers, and
minister of music.
The choir was featured in the opening session of the 1996 Church Music Week at Ridgeland Baptist Conference Center and the 1999 Southern
Baptist Church Music Conference in Nashville.
In 2003 the choir and orchestra made a concert tour/mission trip to Maryland and Delaware.
James Meaders, Mississippi College, Clinton, Mississippi, is the choral director.
David Young, instrumental consultant, Church Music Department, MBCB, is the choir’s orchestra director.

Heartsong, The Music and Worship Arts Camp for Youth
Heartsong is the music and worship arts camp for 7th – 12th graders sponsored annually by the Church Music
Department of the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.
This ministry is designed to assist youth in their walk with the Lord, whether that be finding Him as Savior and Lord or helping them
discover how to use their artistic and musical talents in worship and ministry.
