Manager’s Notes
My High School English teacher taught me to use the four W’s when writing an invitation. As I invite you to experience Central Hills
Baptist Retreat, I will add a fifth W.
Who
Whenever someone visits this wonderful place, the first question I am asked is: “Who owns this?” And I love to reply, “If you are a
Mississippi Baptist, you own it!” Central Hills is a Ministry of Mississippi Baptists. It is yours to use. We are here to serve
you! We also allow churches from other denominations to come for camps, retreats, and conferences.
What
What is it that makes this place so wonderful? Let’s start with the physical facilities. We are located on 540 of the prettiest acres you
will find in Mississippi. Woodlands, wildlife, springs, a creek complete with a waterfall, a fishing lake and hiking trails are all part of
the experience. In addition, we have a full-size gymnasium, junior Olympic swimming pool, horseback riding, canoeing, regulation flag
football field, rock climbing wall and ropes course, three heated and cooled lodges that house up to 240 people, a complete dining hall and
kitchen, and a 41 hook-up R.V. park complete with kitchen, showers, and assembly hall.
When
When is all this available? Year-round! Central Hills is a year-round camp and conference center. During the summer we offered structured
programming such as our Summer Missions Camp for Boys, The Coed Summer Missions Camp for boys and girls, and our Special Needs Camp for
those with developmental disability. All other times outside our planned programs are available for retreats, conferences, workshops, sports
camps, and single-day events.
Where
By now you want to know where this wonderful place is, don’t you? Well, no matter where you are in Mississippi, we are not too far away
because we are located in the geographic center of the state! To be more precise, we are located 8 miles north of Kosciusko on Highway 19.
Why
We share in the missions statement of all Mississippi Baptists in that we want to “reach Mississippi and the world for Jesus.” We share
Jesus with our campers and assist churches and church organizations as they teach, equip, and evangelize.
