Advertising Rates
- In-state church/denominational rate: $21.20 per column inch.
- In-state commercial rate: $31.80 per column inch. Prepayment is required.
- Church/denomination national rate: $31.80 per column inch. Prepayment is required.
- Commercial national rate: $36.04 per column inch. Prepayment is required.
- Classified rate is $.60 per word, $6 minimum. Prepayment is required. No blind ads.
Deadline for reserving ad space: 2 weeks prior to date of publication. Copy for ads due 10 days prior to date of publication. Late
cancellations or incomplete ads will be charged.
Advertising Policy for the Baptist Record
The following is a list of guidelines regarding paid advertisements with The Baptist Record. This list is not intended to be exhaustive.
All ads are subject to verification and final approval by the editor.
Not Acceptable:
- Advertisements which solicit funds for any private or commercial business or mission activity, or for any organization or causes,
not previously approved by the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board.
- Any products or merchandise produced and sold that are in competition with products and merchandise distributed by Southern Baptists.
- Employment ads except those advertising Southern Baptist church or denominational positions.
- Advertisements containing words, or that are sponsored by companies, promoting activities contrary to generally-accepted Baptist beliefs.
- Books or other printed materials that promote ideas or programs contrary to the Baptist Faith and Message.
- Private loan or financial advisor advertisements unless endorsed by the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board or GuideStone Financial
Resources of the Southern Baptist Convention.
- Government seized/surplus vehicles, work-at-home, etc.
- Food and drug ads that include health/nutrition claims.
- Advertisements of 1-900 telephone numbers and other toll telephone services.
- Singles/Couples/Personals advertisements.
- Ads which, in the judgement of the editor, contain personal attacks or potentially slanderous/libelous material.
- Advertisements may not contain Scripture when used to promote commercial business unless the business is church- or denomination-affiliated.
- Advertising which, in the judgement of the editor, compromises the integrity of the state Baptist newspaper or violates the
newspaper’s established editorial policies.
